This photo represents how the workspace needs to be adapted to fit different needs in life, here the desk is temporarily transformed into a party area. The participants discuss how this problem is related to unaffordable rents.
The same work desk at a different time point. The participant reflects: “Having no separate private and professional space on everyday basis affects one’s mental health negatively.”
Participants describe spending considerable time on unpaid work to stay relevant for clients. This photo was chosen to represent time spent on keeping the digital profile attractive.
This photo symbolizes when work hours interfere with personal life. This participant needed to work when her husband was asleep and reflects: “It has happened many times, and left me questioning my work – is it worth it?”
The theme “freelancer lifestyle” covered many appreciated aspects of freelance work. This photo symbolizes freedom and pleasure from deciding how and where to work.
The described freedom to choose how and where to work can manifest in different ways. This photo represents rushing between meetings, here joining a meeting from a café, eating in a hurry. The topic “lifestyle” showed how participants balanced contrasting perspectives, where positive and negative associations often co-existed.
